Whyrthar: Solar Elves

The Solar Elves are natively desert dwellers who live in great cities of gold and light. Although they are very private in their worships, they are quite friendly with other races and have a love for bartering and trading. Some people even regard them as a different race from the elves, since their friendliness towards outsiders is rare amongst the elvenkind.

Solar Affinity. You have resistance to radiant damage. Also, you do not have access to your Darkvision trait, since the solar elves avoidance to darkness has removed the need for seeing in the dark.

Praise the Sun. You know the Word of Radiance cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast Continual Flame once, and it recharges after a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast Calm Emotions once, and it recharges after a long rest. You do not need the material components required of the spells. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Gift of Light. You can use your action to touch a light source and increase its brightness once per long rest. The radius of the bright light around the source is doubled, and dim light extends for the same distance beyond that area. The light source's duration is halved, however, so that a torch affected by Gift of Light would burn out in half an hour. Adding more fuel to the source while under the effect of Gift of Light ends the effect as it returns to its normal brightness.
