Aquila, the Sorcerer

Aquila Greycastle Mirmulnir is a half-elf born in the human city of Cawold, where he lived most of his life with his mother Elise, until he was eventually sent off to live with his father Ganymede in Titun. Aquila's father is a member of the high-elf nobility and carries with him the name of the Mirmulnir family, a pure blooded, ancient lineage of elves rumored to have draconic origins. Ganymede met Aquila's mother during a diplomatic trip to Cawold, and left shortly after Aquila was born. Although his mother wasn't as wealthy as his elven father, she was the owner of the Tree Bark tavern in Cawold, and could afford a comfortable life while raising Aquila by herself.
Aquila never had much interest in meeting his elven family, but when he was about eighteen years old he was sent off by his mother to live in Titun, and study in the city's arts guild. Unfortunately the elves didn't recieve the young half-elf very well. His father didn't like to be seen with his non pure-blooded son, so he always kept his distance, and Aquila's older sisters weren't very fond of him either. Nevertheless Aquila still went through with his studies at the guild, and did his best to bear with the elves.
It was during his time with the elves that Aquila started having some odd experiences, fire would suddenly spew out from his hand, or an object he touched would instantly freeze or sometimes red scales appeared on his skin for a brief moment. Then Aquila started having dreams about dragons every night and hearing strange whispers in his head. At this point he already had suspicions that he was indeed a sorcerer, and the rumors about the Mirmulnir family were true. He was confused and excited at the same time, it was one of his dreams to learn magic but he never had the talent for it, but suddenly he recieved the power for free, the only downside being that he had no idea how to control it.
Some time after he learned about his sorcery, Aquila met his new companion, the dragon god Mirmulnir himself. When he was on the road to Cawold to visit his mother, a bright beam of fire came crashing down from the sky and hit the ground near him, and from it Mirmulnir appeared, but in the form of a small pseudodragon with all his power drained from him. He teached the half-elf how to control his newly acquired magic, and requested a favor from him. Mirmulnir wanted Aquila to become an adventurer, find the lost vaults and be the first one to obtain the legendary sphere of wishes. Aquila didn't hesitate to accept his request, wishing to pay back Mirmulnir for granting him his magic, and to put his new powers to use. But he knew he still had a long way to go and wouldn't be able to do it alone. After saying goodbye to his mother he set off to the city of Eliond, hoping to find reliable adventurers to join him in his journey.
